A public institute for self-governing thought.
Mission
The New School of Thoughts advances the study and practice of self-governance, social justice, and participatory governance. We build public knowledge: an open library, a research competition, and a global network of young leaders, so that scholarship serves the communities it comes from.
Tradition
Our thinking draws from a wide tradition. From Frantz Fanon on decolonisation and embodied politics. From W. E. B. Du Bois on the color-line and participatory knowledge. From Achille Mbembe on the postcolony and the politics of care. And from Hannah Arendt on public freedom and the human condition. We are not confined to any single school; we hold that new thought comes from listening across schools.
